With only 78 rooms and suites, Das Stue is one of the first luxury boutique hotels in central Berlin. Located in a traditional and elegant area of Germany’s capital, and right opposite the Berlin Zoo, the hotel offers exclusive access to Tiergarten Park, and other city highlights. Formerly the Royal Danish Embassy, interior designer Patricia Urquiola has brought this stately building back to life. Combining traditional with contemporary to create a luxurious but welcoming atmosphere. The perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a long day sightseeing, Das Stue, which in English translates to ‘Living Room’ certainly lives up to its name. With lots of small places to cosy up and canoodle, it really does feel like a home away from home. There are two restaurants in the hotel, The Casual and Cinco, both of which are headed by the Spanish Michelin-starred Chef Paco Perez. I would definitely recommend Cinco’s avant-garde tasting menus which can reach up to 17 courses. Tuck in. It’s going to be while.

LOCATION

Das Stue is a beautiful hotel located in the diplomatic Tiergarten district, a historically important and influential area in the centre of Berlin. The neighbourhood is home to a range of buzzing restaurants, bars and boutiques all easily accessible by foot, taxi or tram. Hidden in the peaceful Tiergarten Park and opposite Berlin Zoo, Das Stue is a tranquil haven just minutes away from some of Berlin’s main cultural attractions, including Victory Column, the Kaiser Wilhalm Memorial Church and the New National Gallery. Getting here is easy; Berlin’s Central Station is only a 10 minute drive from the hotel and the closest airport, Tegel Airport, is only a 20 minute drive away. So…easy in and easy out.

OUR ROOM

Das Stue has only 78 rooms and suites, all beautifully decorated and generously sized. All of the rooms come with a king size bed, a rain shower and all the necessary modern amenities one could hope for. Many of the suites offer stunning panoramic views of the Tiergarten Park or Berlin Zoo, making it hard to believe that we are right in the centre of a capital city. The best two suites in the hotel, the Penthouse Suite and Bel Etage Suite, the largest of the suites, both include a complimentary breakfast and a large terrace for us to relax and enjoy watching the animals in Berlin Zoo. A night in the Bel Etage Suite also entitles us to complimentary use of an audi limousine or sports car to make getting around the city even easier. Or whatever pops into your minds at the moment.

Throughout the year, Das Stue offers a range of generous special packages for guests to enjoy. From Safari Surprise to City Break, these packages will help anyone to really make the most of the stay. Don’t forget our swimming gear! The Susanne Kaufmann Spa, with a 14 metre indoor pool and Finnish sauna, is the ideal place to unwind after a long day sightseeing or shopping. There are also three treatment rooms which offer a range of facial and body treatments, inspired by traditional Chinese medicine. For the perfect couples weekend, I recommend the hotel’s Mini Moon Package which offers breakfast, a bottle of champagne and a couples massage to ensure we both leave feeling relaxed and revitalised.
